While the Montreal Canadiens made an incredible run to the Eastern Conference Final in his second season as general manager, Marc Bergevin isnt ready to label his team as contenders just yet. Robin Yount Jersey . Bergevin held court with the media in his end-of-season news conference on Monday, saying theres still plenty to do to make the Habs a championship-calibre club. "I thought our young players learned a lot," he said. "What they learned over the last 17 playoff games is something you cant buy. Were a good team with a young core, but were not a mature team yet. Im happy with our season, but theres still work to do. "Next year, we go back to the same starting line with everybody else. Our first goal will be to make the playoffs and, once youre in, anythings possible. Maybe one day down the road well be a mature team but were not there yet." The No. 1 question posed to Bergevin was the contract status of star defenceman P.K. Subban, who becomes a restricted free agent with arbitration rights on July 1. Subban, who signed a two-year bridge contract after the 2012-13 lockout, captured the Norris Trophy as the NHLs top blueliner last year, was named to the Canadian mens Olympic team that won gold in Sochi in February and was among their top players in the postseason. While many speculate that Subban could pull in an eight-year contract worth $8 million to $9 million a season, Bergevin wasnt showing his hand on anything regarding negotiations. "Contract talks are strategic," he explained, reminding reporters that his policy is to never divulge contract updates in public. "I cant give you a timeline on when itll get done." Bergevin, did however, mention he would like to retain pending UFA Brian Gionta, whos been captain for the last four seasons. "Well see what we can do to bring him back," he said, adding that others have stepped up as leaders as well. "(Josh) Gorges is a really good leader. Carey, P.K., and Patch are taking that role. We have a lot of young leaders who will help moving forward. A guy like Plekanec might not be a player who talks a lot, but by his play and the way he competes, hes a leader." Bergevin also said that head coach Michel Therrien, who has a year left on his contract, will be back - likely with an extension. Therrien raised plenty of eyebrows using third-string goalie Dustin Tokarski over backup Peter Budaj in the conference final after starting netminder Carey Price was injured. There will be plenty of speculation about what the team may do with both goaltenders this summer. "I know him personally," Bergevin said of Budaj. "Hes a great man, loved by his teammates. And through this whole thing he was very positive. Michel had a hunch to put (Tokarski) in for the second game and he gave us a chance to win. Internally well discuss it, but its a nice problem to have." The Canadiens GM was also satisfied this season with the development of young blueliners Nathan Beaulieu, Jarred Tinordi and Greg Pateryn, the first two playing short stints with the NHL club. "I think the day they become everyday players with the Canadiens will be sooner rather than later," he said. "Do I want them to play in NHL next season - yes. "I want some internal competition at camp (next season)." Bergevin also defended the much-criticized handling of the concussion suffered by forward Dale Weise in Game 5 of the conference final. Weise was wobbly and went to the dressing room after a blindside hit by New Yorks John Moore, but returned later in the game. Weise did not play in Game 6 due to what Therrien would only call a "body injury." It appeared the team let Weise back out on the ice even if it looked obvious he had his brain rattled by the hit. Bergevin said the team didnt find out until the next day that Weise had a concussion and was satisfied that he was properly examined according to the league rules before being allowed to return. "The NHL has a protocol that needs to be followed," he said. "If the player says hes OK and the test says hes OK, then hes OK. Players have a list of things they need to do before they can return to play and he passed with flying colours. "Its flawed, but Im not a doctor. We all worry about our players, but we can only go by what were given." - with CP files Stephen Vogt Jersey .com) - A chant of Zeke reverberated around AT&T Stadium before Ezekiel Elliott powered into the end zone for his fourth and final touchdown. NEW YORK -- In what seemed like an ultimate grudge match, players on both sides of the Columbus Blue Jackets-New York Rangers rivalry stepped up to inflict damage on their former team. Jannik Hansen Jersey . Brandon Dubinsky had a goal and assist, and the Blue Jackets edged the Rangers 4-3 in a shootout on Monday night. Former Blue Jackets star Rick Nash -- acquired in the deal that sent Dubinsky to Columbus -- did his best to lift the Rangers, but his two power-play goals were only enough to get New York even. He and Mats Zuccarello were stopped by Sergei Bobrovsky in the tiebreaker. "It wouldve been nice to get that other point," Nash said. "Weve got to come out a lot better, and we cant keep making mistakes that end up in the back of our net." Bobrovsky made 40 saves through overtime in his first action in over a month to backstop Columbus win at the end of a 2-2 road trip. "This was a good two points for us," Blue Jackets coach Todd Richards said. "Bob was great with big save after big save. Dubinsky was really big for us. He played a strong game." Mark Letestu and Ryan Johansen scored against Henrik Lundqvist in the shootout. "Im happy we got a point. We played well for 60 minutes," Lundqvist said. "The difference is I didnt stop the breakaways and (Bobrovsky) did -- one in the second and in the shootout. I have some work to do." Lundqvist had the night off Saturday when backup Cam Talbot won 7-1 at Toronto. Lundqvist is 2-1-1 since sitting for three straight games in late December. Nash had tied it 3-3 with his second of the night, and ninth of the season, at 6:55 of the third period as David Savard served a penalty for delay of game. Defenceman James Wisniewski also had a goal and assist, and Cam Atkinson scored on a second-period breakaway to help the Blue Jackets win. "Always good to end road trips on a high note," Wisniewski said. "Weve been coming together as a team more and more." Bobrovsky shined in his return from a 14-game absence caused by a strained groin. The reigning Vezina Trophy winner had been out since Dec. 3 but showed no rust in a matchup with Lundqvist -- the Vezina winner in 2012. The Rangers came away with a point because of Nash, acquired from Columbus in 2012. Brian Boyle cut the deficit to 3-2 at 4:53 of the third, and Lundqvist made 36 saves through overtime for New York, which had won three of four before returning home. The game took a noticeable turn 21 seconds into the second when Rangers forward Chris Kreider drove Columbus defenceman Fedor Tyutin into the left-wing boards with a shoulder-to-shoulder hit that left Tyutin down on his stomach. Dubinsky skated over to challenge Kreider, but a fight didnt ensue. Kreider was given a major penalty for boarding and was ejected. Dubinsky received a minor for roughing. Tyutin left soon after and didnt return to the game. "I looked at the replay. He tried to stop just before," Rangers coach Alain Vigneault said of Kreider. "It seemed like he stopped, and sort of a follow-through from their player. Anytime a guy gets pushed into the boards the way he did, the referees dont have much of a choice." Vigneault doesnt expect Kreider to be suspended. Richards, who said the team will know more about Tyutins status on Tuesday, called the injury "more of a charley horse than anything else." With the teams skating 4-on-4, Atkinson stole the puck from defenceman Anton Stralman at the New York blue line, and raced alone the other way. He received little resistance from Stralman and beat Lundqvist to restore Columbus lead at 2-1. Columbus didnt take further advantage of the three-minute power play. Just 27 seconds after Columbus killed a penalty, Dubinsky made a perfect pass from the left-wing boards across the Rangers zone to a streaking Wisniewski on the right side. Wisniewski fired a rising shot that got in under the crossbar to make it 3-1 with 3:13 left in the second. Bobrovsky stopped 15 shots in each of the first two periods. He denied Brad Richards at the right post with his pads when Richards took a pair of whacks at a loose puck. Benoit Pouliot was stopped earlier in the period on a breakaway. Nash tied it 1-1 when he snapped a rising wrist shot from the left circle that caromed in off the left post with 52.8 seconds left in the first. Dubinsky had staked Columbus to a 1-0 lead with 2:53 remaining when Wisniewskis shot hit him in the leg and deflected in. Left-handed reliever Boone Logan agreed to a $16.5 million, three-year contract on Friday, a person familiar with the negotiations told The Associated Press. Vancouver Canucks Jerseys . And while taking highly-touted Simon Fraser offensive lineman Matthias Goossen second overall on Tuesday night will definitely help in an area of need for the club, it was a swap of draft picks that may prove to be his most shrewd move. Landen Lucas finished with eight points, seven rebounds and three blocks off the bench and Perry Ellis also netted eight for the Jayhawks (17-3, 6-1 Big 12), who have won three straight and eight of their last nine games. It was a very frustrating game, and were very fortunate that we won because I think that they outplayed us, Kansas head coach Bill Self said. Kyan Anderson had 17 points to pace the Horned Frogs (14-6, 1-6), who were coming off an 86-85 overtime loss to West Virginia on Saturday. Kenrich Williams scored 13 points with nine boards and Trey Zeigler supplied 12 points and 11 rebounds. Were just trying to find a way to get the wins at the end and make certain plays to secure victories, said Anderson. This is still a team thats learning how to win in situations like that, but I believe well get there. Anderson nailed a 3-pointer and a jumper as TCU scored seven straight points out of the break to take a 37-36 lead. The Jayhawks went back in front as Lucas and Mason each scored four points during a 12-0 run, making it a 52-43 game with under nine minutes to play. Custom Vancouver Canucks Jerseys. Williams layup got the Horned Frogs within 59-54 with 1 1/2 minutes to play. TCU had its opportunities to tie it, but Chris Washburn missed a pair of free throws and Charles Hill Jr. was off the mark from 3-point range. Ziegler went in for a layup and knocked down the ensuing free throw to make it a 59-57 game with 33 seconds left, but Brannen Greene knocked down two foul shots and blocked Zeigler at the other end before making another from the line for a five-point game. Washburns dunk made it a 64-61 game with seven seconds to play. He then pulled down Masons missed free throw, but his long 3-point attempt clanked off the rim at the buzzer. Kansas went ahead early, as Masons jumper ignited an 18-2 burst. Wayne Selden Jr. capped it with a triple for a 23-10 advantage at the midway point of the first half. The Horned Frogs, however, responded with an 8-0 run to whittle the deficit to five points and trailed 36-30 at halftime. Game Notes Kansas improved to 8-1 against TCU ... Red Wings head coach Mike Babcock was behind the bench to lead Canada to a second straight gold medal at the Sochi Olympics. Manny Machado Jersey . He wont have to face the goaltender he rode to that honour when the Red Wings take on the Montreal Canadiens as Carey Price will not be in uniform for the next two games. The game can be seen live on TSN at 7:30pm et/4:30pm pt. Price was hurt at the start of Wednesdays practice after facing just one shot as the team worked on their power play. He left the ice in discomfort and appeared to be favouring his leg. During the Olympics, the Canadiens starting goaltender posted consecutive shutouts for Canada in the semifinals and gold medal game and ended the Olympic tournament with a 5-0 record, a 0.59 goals against average and .972 save percentage. Montreal enters Tuesday hoping to pick up where it left off. The Canadiens won their last three games before the Olympics and went 5-1-1 over their seven final outings prior to the break. The Habs are sitting one point behind Tampa Bay for second place in the Atlantic and eight in back of Boston for the division lead. The Canadiens also are locked in a tie with rival Toronto in both the Atlantic and East standings. The Canadiens will get forward Alex Galchenyuk back in the lineup on Wednesday for the first time since Jan. 6 when he broke his hand in a game against Florida. The sophomore has 10 goals and 13 assists in 44 games this season. The Red Wings posted a 4-1 home win over Montreal on Jan. 24 in the first of four regular-season meetings between the clubs this season. It was the third win for Detroit over the last four games of this series. but the Red Wings head coach is now faced with the unenviable task of getting Detroit back to the playoffs for a 23rd straight season. Babcocks Red Wings hope to aid their postseason quest on Wednesday, when they return from the NHLs Olympic break to visit the Montreal Canadiens at Bell Centre. Detroit would be in the playoffs if the season ended right now, but the club is only one point ahead of a three teams -- Columbus, Ottawa and Washington -- for the Eastern Conferences final berth. While Babcock was coaching Canada to gold, the captain of his NHL team -- Henrik Zetterberg -- was recovering from recent back surgery. Zetterberg suited up for Team Sweden once in Sochi before returning to the United States to have a procedure that removed what Red Wings general manager Ken Holland called a "floating piece of a disk lodged in a nerve in his back." After undergoing the surgery on Friday, Zetterberg, who is leading Detroit in goals (16) and assists (32) this season, is expected to be out of action for 7-to-8 weeks. Zetterbergs absence could make it difficult for the Red Wings to keep their amazing postseason appearance streak going, but the club is still eager to get back to the task at hand. After visiting Montreal, which is six points ahead of Detroit in the Atlantic Division and East standings, the Red Wings will make a stop to battle the playoff-hopeful Senators on Thursday. "Two of the biggest games of the year by far. Were chasing Montreal and Ottawa is chasing us," said Red Wings defenseman Kyle Quincey. "So theres nothing like having 20-odd days off and coming back and playing huge games. We know the playoffs are going to come down to one or two points, so easily it could come down to these two games. We know that going in and that?s why were so focused on getting ready for them." Wednesdays game marks the continuation of a five-game road trip that began before the Olympics. Detroit, which is 15-9-4 as the guest this season compared to a poor 11-11-8 mark at home, split road games against Florida and Tampa Bay before the NHL went on hiatus. Following Thursdays showdown with the Senators, the Red Wings will have four full days of rest before capping their swing next Tuesday at New Jersey. Jim Palmer Jersey . - Rookie Kyle Larson will start from the pole position Saturday night in the NASCAR race at Richmond International Raceway after a thunderstorm arrived just in time to wash out qualifying. Michael Bourn Jersey . For the Athletics, hes extremely important at the top of the order, especially with Coco Crisp hurting. Jaso drove in three runs Sunday night, helping Scott Kazmir and Oakland beat the Texas Rangers 9-3. http://www.oriolesapparelsshop.com/ . The Toronto Maple Leafs forward and Nashville Predators goaltender highlighted Mondays waiver transactions, with Calgarys Chuck Kobasew and Edmontons Philip Larsen also being placed on waivers. ARLINGTON, Texas -- Nick Markakis had answers for both of the home runs from Texas slugger Adrian Beltre. The Baltimore leadoff man hit a tying homer after Beltres first blast, and his go-ahead single followed a three-run shot that pulled the Rangers even, as the Orioles went on to a 6-5 victory in Texas on Wednesday night. Markakis single in the sixth inning came after Beltre wiped out a 5-2 lead. Chris Davis had put Baltimore up by three with a solo shot against his former team -- a night after Nelson Cruz did something similar by homering in his first game as an opponent at Texas. "Weve have been having good at bats up there," Markakis said. "Seems like when they get the ball over the plate, weve been getting good swings on it and finding the hole, finding the gap." Cruz had three singles and reached twice on errors by Luis Sardinas, a surprise fill-in at shortstop for Elvis Andrus. It was the second time in less than a week the two-time All-Star wasnt in the starting lineup. Bud Norris (4-5) allowed six hits and five runs in five innings for the Orioles, and the bullpen pitched four scoreless innings. Zach Britton earned his fifth save. Davis, who was traded to the Orioles by Texas in 2011 and led the majors with 53 homers last year, had his eighth this season on a towering shot to right field for a 5-2 lead in the fifth. Cruz, who chose Baltimore over Texas as a free agent in the off-season and leads the big leagues with 21 home runs, hit a three-run homer in a series-opening win Tuesday. Markakis hit his fourth homer against rookie starter Nick Martinez (1-2) in the third. The left-handed hitters go-ahead single came off Aaron Poreda, a lefty brought in to face him. "It doesnt really matter with Nick," manager Buck Showalter said. "There are so few in baseball that left and right doesnt matter." Beltre, who drove in all five Texas runs, gave the Rangers a 2-1 lead with an opposite-field shot off the facing of the upper deck in right field in the first inning and went the other away again in the fifth for his eighth homer of the season. Chris Tillman Jersey. Beltres tying shot came after Norris was hit on the right forearm on a one-hopper by Mitch Moreland that turned into a single. After a lengthy chat with manager Buck Showalter and the trainer, Norris stayed in and got two quick strikes on Beltre, who fouled off three more pitches before sending a line drive into the Texas bullpen for his third homer in two nights. "When Beltre goes to punching the ball out of the ballpark, he does it in bunches," Rangers manager Ron Washington said. "He put us on his back. We just couldnt put enough runs across the board to help." Norris left the game after the inning with a right forearm contusion. "Im pretty sore," Norris said. "You dont know where you want to get hit, but I guess its the forearm. I got some muscle on it so I guess you could look at it that way." Both of Sardinas errors led to runs. He dropped a popup with two outs in the first, and Cruz scored on a single by Adam Jones. A throwing error in the third came before another run-scoring single by Jones and a sacrifice fly from J.J. Hardy. Andrus grounded out as a pinch-hitter in the sixth and stayed in at shortstop. NOTES: Orioles RHP Miguel Gonzalez was scratched from his Thursday start in Texas and replaced by RHP Chris Tillman. Gonzalez is nursing soreness on his right side, but theres no diagnosis. He was scheduled for an MRI. ... The Rangers observed a moment of silence for Don Zimmer, who died Wednesday. He managed the Rangers in 1981 and part of 1982. ... Orioles closer Tommy Hunter (left groin strain) will pitch in a simulated game Thursday after getting through fielding practice with no issues. HOUSTON -- Its almost enough to make a defensive co-ordinator drool. Phillip Gaines Jersey . Defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, the Houston Texans No. 1 pick in the draft, was on the field Tuesday for the first time with former NFL Defensive Player of the Year J.J. Watt. As both players get used to new defensive co-ordinator Romeo Crennel, Clowney has eyes on the All-Pro as he eases into the NFL in off-season workouts. "Just watching him work it makes you want to work even more," Clowney said. "Sometimes we maybe go into an extra workout with him. Hes a team guy. Always says he can help you no matter what. (Im) just happy to be beside him out there on the field." The defensive playmaker out of South Carolinas speed and ability had scouts fawning over his potential years ago -- and now the number of ways he can be deployed in a 3-4 defence. Part of that potential involves getting Clowney and Watt on the field together in games. With the departure of Antonio Smith to the Oakland Raiders in free agency, Watt will need a foil. While Clowney is expected to see time at both outside linebacker and as a defensive end, having him on the other side of Watt could take up that slack. Still, it is early in camp and Watt knows what Clowney is going through. While the expectations are high, things will take time. "I dont know enough yet to tell you. Were in just helmets right now," Watt said when asked about Clowneys potential impact. "I know hes in the playbook and hes working hard. As we go forward well see a lot more." Clowneys first goal, like that of all the rookies, is to transition to his team and to the NFL. For Clowney, that includes learning the playbook and even learning names. "For any rookie its very difficult to make the jump from college to pro. It doesnt really matter if they were drafted number one or undrafted, theyre all trying to learn and keep pace with the veterans," coach Bill OBrien said. "I think hes doing a decent job of and hes working hard at it." Star receiver Andre Johnson was absent from the session. One of the franchises marquee players, Johnson said two weeks ago that he would not attend Texans workouts. "I said last week that he and I have had positive conversations," OBrien said. "I have a ton of respect for him. Wed love to have him here right now, but thats up to him. Were moving forward with the players that are here and these guys are working extremely hard." With Johnsons absence and a quarterback competition that is open and far from solved, Houstons defence could be called upon to carry the load early in the season. A big part of that equation will be figuring out how to best deploy playmakers such as Watt and Clowney. Laurent Duvernay-Tardif Jersey . The 31-year-old Russian dominated the No. 3-ranked Ferrer throughout, breaking the defending champion and local favourite four times on the indoor hard court. Chris Conley Jersey . The Wizards had six players score in double figures in their third straight victory, two of them coming against Chicago. Bradley Beal and Martell Webster had 14 points apiece. There were 12 lead changes and 11 ties. Washington took a 92-91 lead on Marcin Gortats layup with 4:28 to play. With the Wizards ahead 96-93 with 1:06 to play, Chicagos Joakim Noah threw a pass out of bounds, and teammate Taj Gibson missed a short jumper with 30 seconds left. As the clock wound down, Jimmy Butler tried a tying 3-pointer for the Bulls and Nene blocked it with less than a second to play. The Bulls were held to just one field goal in the final 5:16. They missed eight of their last nine shots. Kirk Hinrich led Chicago with 18 points, and D.J. Augustin scored 16. The Bulls had won six of seven, and were trying to reach .500 for the first time since Nov. 27. Gortat had 13 points as Washington improved to 19-19 -- the first time its been at .5000 since Dec. Derrick Johnson Jersey. . 30. Chicago played for the first time since their second triple-overtime game of the season, a win in Orlando on Wednesday. The Wizards also played on Wednesday, and scored their most satisfying win of the season, a drubbing of two-time NBA champion Miami. Washington shot 68.4 per cent in the first quarter and led 30-27 after one. The Wizards also had a 54-50 lead at halftime. Chicago went on a 14-2 run to take a 70-62 lead with 5:18 remaining in the third. But the Wizards responded with a 10-0 run that included an exciting shot by Wall. The speedy point guard was grabbed by Mike Dunleavy on a drive. He spun and flipped the ball into the hoop with his left hand as he fell backward. The game was tied at 74 after three. NOTES: Wizards coach Randy Wittman said F Al Harrington (right knee) isnt close to returning. Harrington hasnt played since Nov. 12. .The Bulls are the eighth NBA team to play two triple overtime games in the same season. . COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ethan Finlay scored in the 88th minute to give the Columbus Crew a 1-1 tie with Real Salt Lake on Wednesday night. "Im proud of them the way they fought back, but the other side is youre disappointed were in that position in the first place," Columbus coach Gregg Berhalter said. "Were on the sideline celebrating a tying goal but we should have been in a different position." Salt Lake goalkeeper Jeff Attinella was pleased how a makeshift lineup responded after a 4-0 loss Saturday at Seattle, but knew the teams first victory at Crew Stadium in seven games since 2006 was within its grasp. "Initially, Im disappointed when its that late in the game and were up 1-0," he said. "We want to do our best to get three points. It doesnt matter whether were on the road or not, but before the game we would have taken (a point)." Finlay,, who entered in the 77th minute, took a through-ball from Ben Speas on the right side and dribbled just inside the penalty area before chipping the ball over Attinella. Kyrie Irving USA Jersey. The third-year player has scored all three of his career goals in the past four games. "(Speas) played a great ball in and Attinella came out quick," Finlay said. Attinella finished with six saves, making four outstanding stops after teammate Luis Gil opened the scoring in the 56th minute to end the teams 275-minute goal drought. Gil scored his second goal of the season after goalkeeper Steve Clark made a save on Abdoulie Mansallys long strike. "I just pounced on it when I saw it coming," Gil said. "You sniff those out. CHARLOTTE, N. Jamie Oleksiak Jersey .C. - In their quest to become the first team to repeat as NFC South champions, the Carolina Panthers will lean heavily on healthy running back Jonathan Stewart.Stewart has run for 437 yards on 78 carries — a 5.6-yard average — in the past four games, helping Carolina vault back into first place in the NFC South. The Panthers (6-8-1) will play at Atlanta (6-9) on Sunday with the winner taking home the division title and securing a first-round home game in the playoffs.Hes gone through an awful lot with his ankles and health-wise, so for him to be at this point in the season and feel healthy like he is is really good for us, coach Ron Rivera said. That hasnt always been the case.Stewart missed 17 of 32 games the previous two seasons while battling ankle and knee injuries. He finished both seasons on injured reserve.Stewart came on to the NFL scene as a rookie in 2008, rushing for 836 yards and 10 touchdowns. He followed that by racking up 1,133 yards rushing and 10 more touchdowns the following season.Stewart, who has spent most of his career behind DeAngelo Williams on the Panthers depth chart, has never come close to matching those numbers since. This season he has a team-high 760 yards and three touchdowns, but his production down the stretch has the Panthers excited about their chances on Sunday — and possibly beyond. When hes healthy he is as good as there is, tight end Greg Olsen said. He can take a beating and he dishes it out pretty good. At the end of the game hes a guy the defence isnt really thrilled to tackle.Stewart only carried seven times for 24 yards in a backup role in Carolinas 19-17 loss to Atlanta on Nov. 19. Williams had 10 carries for 41 yards.Since then, hes run for 85 yards against Minnesota, 155 against New Orleans, 73 against Tampa Bay and 122 last Sunday against Cleveland. He also caught a fourth-quarter pass from Cam Newton for the go-ahead touchdown against the Browns, helping the Panthers win their third straight game and take control of their playoff destiny.Stewarts rise is partially related to the offensive line finding stability the past month and getting an opportunity with Williams sidelined with a broken right hand.Williams is back at practice wearing a cast on his hand, but Rivera is expected to stick with the hot hand in Stewart on Sunday.Stew(art) is hitting the holes, making the right reads and the offensive line is blocking their (butts) off too, fullback Mike Tolbert said. Hes a guy that has had opportunities during his career, but has had some ups and downs with injuries. Now he is getting his chance to shine and making the most of it.The 5-foot-10, 235-pound Stewart can be a punishing rusher with a hard running style, low centre of gravity and quick burst. And hes quite capable of a big game. His 206 yards rushing against the New York Giants in the 2009 regular-season finale stands as the second-highest single-game total in franchise history.Despite missing three games earlier this season with a knee injury, he has 390 rushing yards after contract this season, which is 18th-most in the NFL, according to STATS.Offensive co-ordinator Mike Shula said hes never seen the soft-spoken, piano-playing Stewart play better.Hes quiet, but when you see that look in his eye, he has a fire, Shula said. And when that gets lit, and it is lit right now, it is fun to be around him and watch him. He is running well and is tough to bring down.___AP NFL website: www.pro32.ap.org and http://twitter.com/AP_NFL Esa Lindell Jersey . Roma has a game in hand but now second place is even at risk for the capital side as Napoli moved to within three points with the win. "The result is not always fair," Roma coach Rudi Garcia said. "If we play like this until the end we will win many matches. Valeri Nichushkin Jersey . - Mathew Barzal scored 3:47 into overtime as the Seattle Thunderbirds downed the visiting Everett Silvertips 4-3 on Tuesday in Western Hockey League playoff action. http://www.thedallasstarshockey.com/jon-casey-hockey-jersey/ . The Raptors had an early deadline Sunday, a dreaded afternoon game, and they left the bulk of their work until the last minute, as theyve done so many times before. The New York Rangers bottled up the Montreal Canadiens and squeezed out a 1-0 win in Game Six to take the Eastern Conference Final, four games to two. After controlling play early, the Rangers didnt get on the board until 1:53 remaining in the second period, when Dominic Moore converted a nice feed from Brian Boyle. With their season on the line, the Canadiens managed just 18 shots against the Rangers, including five in the third period. In 99 games this season, regular season plus playoffs, it was the fifth time that Montreal had been held to 18 or fewer shots on goal and their 36 shot attempts was easily their lowest of the postseason (previous low was 47) and came in lower than that only twice during the regular season. The Rangers dominated possession in the deciding game, with 58 shot attempts to the Canadiens 36. Subban was even in terms of 5-on-5 shot attempts (16 for, 16 against), which meant that the Habs were left with 27.3% of the 5-on-5 shot attempts (12 for, 32 against) when Subban was off the ice. There were many occasions throughout the series when the Rangers used their speed to take advantage of the Canadiens and that worked in Game Six too. LW Chris Kreider was on for 84.2% of the 5-on-5 shot attempts when he was on the ice, the best rate of the eight Rangers to come in with possession numbers higher than 70% for the game. At the low end for the Rangers in Game Six, LW Carl Hagelin was on for just 21.1% (four for, 15 against) of the 5-on-5 shot attempts. Getting the worst of the possession stats for Montreal was D Andrei Markov, on for 17.9% of the shot attempts (five for, 23 against). With Markov off the ice, the Canadiens were getting 47.9% of the even-strength attempts. Heading towards unrestricted free agency, will that be the last game Markov plays for the Canadiens? Hes slowing down, but played a career-high 25:14 per game this season, so hes an integral part of the Canadiens blueline. Game Six hero Rene Bourque didnt register a shot on goal, team captain Brian Gionta didnt manage a single attempted shot and LW Max Pacioretty, who had three shots on goal, was the only Habs forward with more than two. As much as it was a nice playoff run for the Canadiens, it ended in disappointment. (Coughlins Law: Everything ends badly, otherwise it wouldnt end.) Bourque was a postseason surprise, with a team-leading eight goals and led Montreal with six points in the series against the Rangers. C Lars Eller led Montreeal forwards with 13 points and D P. Mike Gartner Jersey. K. Subban, despite two points in six games against the Rangers, led the Habs with 14 points in 17 games, but the last 10 games of the playoffs were hard on Thomas Vanek, Montreals big trade deadline acquisition, who had two goals and two assists in that span, registering a total of 13 shots on goal. For a player who averaged a career-high 3.18 shots on goal per game during the regular season, that decline suggested that Vanek could have been playing hurt. Its hard to fathom such a collapse without some underlying reason, but if it was merely just a run of poor play from Vanek, it came at a most inopportune time. Rookie G Dustin Tokarski was excellent for Montreal in Game Six, turning aside 31 of 32 shots by the Rangers, leaving him with a .916 save percentage for the series; a nice unexpected contribution for the Habs. Will it be enough to change their plans for next season? Carey Price and Peter Budaj are under contract, which doesnt leave room for Tokarski, so maybe hes looking at another year in the AHL. Tokarski does have an inexpensive one-way deal in 2015-2016. For the Rangers, G Henrik Lundqvist rebounded from getting pulled in Game Five and while he wasnt tested much during his 18-save shutout, he did have a spectacular save off a Vanek scoring chance when the game was still scoreless. Lundqvist has a .928 save percentage in the postseason, the best among goaltenders with at least six games played. The other assist on Moores series-winning goal went to Ryan McDonagh, yet another shot through the Habs heart, as their former prospect had a monster series, with 10 points in six games. He had three points in 14 games through the first two rounds and goes into the Final tied with Martin St. Louis and Derek Stepan for the Rangers playoff scoring lead. The popular notion is that the Rangers are going to be easy pickings for either Chicago or Los Angeles, whichever team claims the Western Conference, but the Rangers shouldnt be dismissed so easily. They finished the regular season sixth in Fenwick Close (53.6%) and have one of the games premier puck stoppers behind them. That alone should give them a chance and for a team that last won the Stanley Cup 20 years ago, thats a pretty exciting proposition. WASHINGTON - Just when it appeared that the intensity of a playoff run was getting to be too much for the Washington Wizards, they pull off a solid win over the Indiana Pacers. Justin Falk Jersey . And the Pacers? They played so poorly that it made this weeks win over the Miami Heat look more like an aberration in some late-season doldrums. John Wall scored 20 points, and Marcin Gortat added 17 points and 12 rebounds Friday night as the Wizards avenged two of their biggest losses of the season, never trailing in a 91-78 win over the cold-shooting, turnover-prone Pacers. "Were at the point where we cant just get up for the Miamis or the Chicago Bulls and then come out and get doughnuts against the Wizards or these other teams," said David West, who committed four of Indianas 17 turnovers. "I just dont know if we are handling success and being out front the right way." The Heat beat the Detroit Pistons on Friday night, essentially negating Indianas victory over Miami on Wednesday in the standings. The Pacers lead is back to two games atop the Eastern Conference. "The game Wednesday doesnt mean anything if we dont get the one tonight, and were back at square one," Pacers guard George Hill said. "We gave up another game where we should have won." The Wizards, meanwhile, sit sixth in the East and are almost certainly playoff-bound for the first time since 2008, but their recent uninspired play had led to questions as to whether young players Wall and Bradley Beal had the mettle for a post-season push. Washington had lost four of five, with games featuring wild swings and deficits too big to make up. "Our intensity level for 48 minutes had waned," coach Randy Wittman said. "And wed lost that edge a little bit, in terms of we waited until we got down before we really played with effort and intensity." Not so Friday night against the Pacers, who are responsible for two of Washingtons three losses by 20-plus points this season. This was one of those prove-yourself wins that counts a little extra. "They had our number the first two games," Beal said. "They played way more physical than we did. They kind of did whatever they wanted to when they were at home, but once we got them here we did a great job of just hitting them — and we kept hitting them throughout the whole game." Paul George scored 19 points, and Lance Stephenson had 13 points and matched a career-high with 14 rebounds for the Pacers, who have lost a season-high four straight road games. Indiana committed five turnovers in the first four minutes Friday and shot 35 per cent overall. By halftime, the Pacers were up to 10 turnovers. No. 11 came on the first possession of the second half, when centre Roy Hibbert threw the ball out of bounds. After scoring in the 70s only once in their first 69 games, the Pacers have held below 80 in three of their last four. "Im tired of talking about it," said Hibbert, who went 3-for-8 from the field and had only two rebounds. "Weve been in this rut for a month. I dont know. Ive made my suggestions. You take one step forward and three steps back. One game, and then we play like this. ... Weve talked about that for great length amongst ourselves, private team meetings, all that (stuff), and I dont know." The Pacers finished 2-for-13 from 3-point range. Stephenson went 3-for-13 and missed all five of his 3-pointers. George was 6-for-22 and was unhappy he didnt get more calls. "Its just crazy," George said. "We played against a team the other night where if you breathe on the guy (LeBron James) you know he went to the line. Im not saying Im that calibre player, but its just frustrating." As poorly as the Pacers played, the Wizards didnt truly pull away until late in the third quarter. Trevor Ariza and Martell Webster hit 3-pointers in a 10-0 run that made the score 77-56 early in the fourth. Ariza finished just 2 for 12 from the field, and Bradley Beal was 2 for 13. "We guarded our butts off," Beal said. "We didnt necessarily shoot it too well, but we definitely defended." NOTES: Beal played 35 minutes despite suffering a hip pointer in Wednesdays loss to the Phoenix Suns. ... Al Harrington accounted for all of the points in a 10-0 run by the Wizards over 2 1/2 minutes in the second quarter. Thomas Vanek Jersey . Pikul Khueanpet scored early in the second half and Kanjana Sungngoen made it 2-0 in the 65th minute of the playoff. Tuyet Dong narrowed the margin with goal four minutes from time. The win gave Thailand fifth place at the Asian Cup and the last of the continents qualifying spots for the 2015 Womens World Cup in Canada. Pierre Turgeon Jersey .com) - It may just be the right place and the right opponent for the Detroit Red Wings to snap their longest losing streak of the season. http://www.officialsabreshockeyauthentic.com/benoit-pouliot-jersey/ . 5 Trade Deadline is drawing closer and teams will be deciding on whether to buy or sell while figuring out which players can make the biggest difference and hold the greatest value.CLEARWATER, Fla. -- Jose Bautista hit a long home run off Roberto Hernandez three batters into the game, and the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Philadelphia Phillies 4-3 Wednesday in rain-shortened spring training opener for both teams. Bautistas home run landed outside of the ballpark at Bright House Field. The game was called in the middle of the seventh inning. "It felt pretty good, I cant deny that," Bautista said. "More importantly I felt like I was seeing the ball great. I havent been playing for a while so thats a positive." Bautista missed the last six weeks of the season with a hip injury, the second straight year in which he ended the season on the disabled list. He hit 28 home runs in 2013 after reaching 27 the year before. He was 1 for 2 with a walk and two runs scored Wednesday. Ryan Howard and Marlon Byrd each had run-scoring singles off former Phillies left-hander J.A. Happ in the bottom of the first. STARTING TIME Phillies: Hernandez, making his Phillies debut, allowed two runs on four hits in two innings. He is the front runner for the fifth starters job after signing a one-year, $4.5 million contract as a free agent this winter. "When I face him I try to throw changeups and sinkers down," Hernandez said of the home run to Bautista. "But today I got down in the count and had to throw it down the middle. I missed up." Blue Jays: Happ struggled in his only inning against his former team. Although he ended up striking out thhe side, he gave up four hits and a walk in facing eight batters. Johan Larsson Jersey. . Happ finished second in the NL Rookie of the Year voting in 2009, when he went 12-4 with a 2.93 ERA. Happ was 5-7 with a 4.56 ERA in 18 starts with the Blue Jays last season. TRAINERS ROOM Philadelphia left-hander Cole Hamels threw off the mound for the first time this spring. The 30-year-old Hamels entered camp behind the rest of the pitchers after experiencing biceps soreness in November. Hamels will throw another side session on Saturday and isnt likely to pitch in a Grapefruit League game for another two weeks. HOWARDS END Howard got off to a fast start, singling in a run in the bottom of first. The Phillies first baseman played only 80 games last year because of knee problems. Manager Ryne Sandberg is impressed with Howards progress. "I really like Howards aggressiveness early in the count with men on base," Sandberg said. KNUCKLED Cliff Lee will make his first start of the spring on Thursday, when the Phillies take on the Blue Jays for the second straight day, this time in Dunedin. But several Phillies regulars will not be in the lineup, including Howard, Jimmy Rollins and Chase Utley. Toronto is starting knuckleball pitcher R.A. Dickey. But Sandberg says hes not sitting his regulars because of Dickeys unusual pitch. "I dont think that comes into play that much," Sandberg said. "If they keep it simple, it comes down to see the ball and hit it." SAN FRANCISCO -- Jean Machi and the San Francisco Giants ended their six-game losing streak in the most wacky way. Antonio Rudiger Jersey . They dont care how it happened, any break is welcome these days. A timely, heads-up glance by Machi helped San Francisco take advantage of a huge baserunning blunder by Pittsburgh, and the Giants tagged out of two runners who wandered away on the same play to beat the Pirates 7-5 Wednesday. "Just like we drew it up, right?" second baseman Joe Panik quipped. "We got lucky with that one. Everything happened so quick. Almost like Little League, a rundown, playing a game of Pickle." San Francisco stopped a skid that matched its longest of the season, and avoided the clubs first winless homestand of at least seven games in the 15-year history of AT&T Park. The Pirates, who had won three in a row, led 5-4 in the sixth when Chris Stewart drew a one-out walk with runners on second and third. Machi (6-0) got the ball back from the catcher and noticed Travis Snider had left second base, apparently thinking it was a bases-loaded walk. "Absolutely! It was 100 per cent mental error on my part," Snider said. "Offensively, we could have made something happen. Honestly, I was thinking about getting to third base and if he walked Id get to third. Thats obviously not what you want to happen when you have first open. I take ownership for that mistake." Machi threw to shortstop Brandon Crawford to trap Snider in a rundown. Crawford tagged Snider, then saw Gaby Sanchez stray off third and break for home. Crawford threw to Machi, who tossed back to third baseman Pablo Sandoval to get Sanchez. "You dont see that very often. We got a break there," manager Bruce Bochy said. "I havent seen that. He mustve thought the bases were loaded, going to third." Gregor Blanco hit a tying single in the seventh, and a passed ball by Stewart later in the inning put the Giants ahead. Justin Wilson (3-2) took the loss. Santiago Casilla, San Franciscos fifth reliever after Tim Lincecums short start, earned his eighth save in 11 chances. Jordy Mercer hit a two-run homer in the fourth and Josh Harrison also connected for the Pirates. But the blunder on the bases left manager Clint Hurdle baffled. "You know, I have a buddy and we always talk about how if you watch enough games youll continually see something you have never seen before," he said. "Unfortunately, thats the first time Ive seen us walk into a double play." Bochy met with slumping Crawford before the game about tweaking his hitting mechanics, then moved him up to the No. 2 hole. Crawfords single started a three-run first on a day the Giants runs were more than the six they had total in the previous six games. HARRISONS POP: Harrisons ninth home run was his fourth longball in as many games. The Pirates have nine homers in their last five games. "We call it game-time pop," Hurdle said. SUSACS FIRST HIT: Andrew Susac recorded his first career hit and RBI in the third for San Francisco. Starting at catcher as Buster Posey played first base, Susac was 0 for 5 in four games before his single. He was promoted Saturday from Triple-A Fresno with Hector Sanchez out because of a concussion. "Its awesome. I cant explain how it feels," he said. And the ball from his hit? "I think my dad earned it." QUOTABLE: On his 57th birthday, Hurdle offered: "All I want for my birthday is another birthday. Im good now and could go out tomorrow and have no regrets." TRAINERS ROOM: Pirates: Outfielder Starling Marte needs more time to recover on the concussion list and wasnt activated Wednesday when eligible. He went through his first full workout Tuesday, then had a recovery day Wednesday. He is likely to need a rehab assignment. Giants: Bochy is optimistic of getting first baseman Brandon Belt back from a concussion as soon as this weekend against the Mets in New York, while centre fielder Angel Pagan could play in a rehab game in the next couple of days in Arizona as he returns from an inflamed back. Right-hander Matt Cain was being re-evaluated Wednesday as he tries to recover from an elbow injury in his throwing arm. ON DECK: Pirates: Jeff Locke (2-2) starts Thursday night at Arizona. Giants: Ryan Vogelsong (5-8) pitches Friday night vs. the Mets at Citi Field to start an 11-day, 10-game road trip. Marvin Plattenhardt Jersey .Y. - OK, it is done. Shkodran Mustafi Jersey . Billy Hamilton finished off Cincinnatis biggest comeback of the season for a doubleheader sweep. http://www.germanyfcsoccershop.com/c-5-jonas-hector-germany-jersey.aspx . 1 overall pick in the draft by the Houston Texans, is recovering from sports hernia surgery.I spent time on Wednesday reviewing and adding some things to my protections pages in my playbook and I thought it would be a good education about how involved protections are. It is, I believe, one area that the fans have no idea how much communication goes on and how much the offensive line, backs and quarterback have to be on the same page. Lets start with a team running a drop back protection from a one back set.  From a base coverage look, there will be usually six defenders that are "threats" to the QB.  We also have secondary defenders, or threats, that are covering the receivers that may rush the QB from coverage look.    Lets start with four defensive lineman and two linebackers in the box area, which is the area just outside the tackles and everything inside the tackles.  The centre will make a call and identify the front, or where the defensive players are aligned as pertaining to the offensive players.  A term like "UNDER" means that the two defensive tackles have moved or shifted to the boundary, "OVER" means that the Noseguard has aligned over the centre and the field guard is covered.  "EVEN" is a term that the centre will say when he is uncovered by a defensive lineman and the guards are covered by a defensive lineman.  "ODD" usually means the centre is covered and the guards are not covered by defensive lineman.  "TRIPLE, DOUBLE EAGLE, SOLID" are terms that the centre will use when the centre and both guards are all covered by defensive lineman.  Once the front is set, the centre will determine which defenders they will be blocking.  There is five offensive lineman, so that would leave one threat in the 4-2 (four DL and two LB) six man box.  The sixth defender is the running backs responsibility.  The front four DL is handled by the OL and the centre will point to the LB and say his number that they are going to be responsible for.  The back will then block the next closest threat and if he doesnt come, look for anything from the secondary (the guys covering the receivers).  It is crucial that the RB and the offensive lineman see the point by the centre because if not, you could block the wrong people or leave a rusher unblocked.  Usually the back will be taking the LB on the side that he is aligned.  Sometimes the centre will identify the front and make a call and a signal like "SOLID" and that would tell the back that the OL is going to take the LB to the backs side and that the back must now adjust and find the sixth threat wherever he is aligned.  A lot of times, a mistake in protection is when the RRB does not get the call from the OL and he and the line block the same LB. Kevin Trapp Jersey. After the centre IDs the front and sets the protectors, the QB then understands where the unblocked players are that the QB has to throw HOT off of.  Hot means that he must throw before that defender can run and hit the QB.  A lot of times the OL is reading the most inside threat of three defenders. For example, the guard and tackle look to see if the inside LB threat comes with a defensive lineman and if he doesnt they can work to an outside threat that is coming.  They will always handle the inside two most threats if three come, the QB will have to throw HOT off of the third threat to that side. Some terms that offensive lineman will use to communicate with each other: Dog - A linebacker that blitzes the QB Stunt - Twists and gap exchanges between two adjacent defensive linemen Blitz - A secondary player that is rushing the QB Fan - Guard and tackle fan out and block the two defenders outside them Pop - When an uncovered lineman gets away from the line of scrimmage to look to his threat and any other threats from the outside. Roger - Three offensive lineman slide to the right Louie - Three offensive lineman slide to the left Squeeze - Call by the offensive guard or tackle where they both step inside and take the defenders inside of them.  It is made when they are blocking by themselves and they have three threats.  They will leave the most outside threat for the QB to throw HOT off of. Ronnie -The line blocks a full slide protection to the right, protecting their play side gap. Lonnie -The line blocks a full slide protection to the Left, protecting their play side gap. MDM or Trollie - When a tackle is blocking a down lineman and a defender not accounted for rushes inside of the down lineman.  The tackle will take the inside threat and let the QB throw HOT off of the outside threat. Each team has their own calls and have many different calls which tell how to block rushers and who will block rushers.  Zone protections with 2, 3, 4, 5 offensive linemen all have their own terms and calls -- calls to tell the back that he will block a gap and not a man.  It is an amazing process that the offensive line and backs do on every single pass play.  Each protection also has their own set of calls.  For example, there is a different set of calls when there is no backs in the backfield or when the offensive line is using a sprint out protection.  As you can see, the OL have to be an intelligent crew and they all have to be on the same page.  Want to learn more about offensive football? "I think its a good move for him," former Commissioner Fay Vincent said. http://www.authenticcelticsproshop.com/Dennis-Johnson-Jersey/ . The result was a game-winning, power-play goal. Chiasson snapped a third-period tie and lifted the Dallas Stars to a 3-2 victory on Monday night. NEW ORLEANS -- Rudy Gay went from ejection to redemption in just a couple of days. One game after a miserable showing in Oklahoma City, Gay tied a career high with 41 points and the Sacramento Kings cruised to a 114-97 victory at the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday night. "Honestly, I didnt even know how much I scored," Gay said. "It was more about getting the win." In a loss two nights earlier to the Thunder, Gay scored only six points before being sent off the court with two technical fouls in the fourth quarter. But Gay hit 16 of 25 shots in the Big Easy, including 5 of 8 from 3-point range, to match a point total he last put up on Dec. 13, 2009, in Miami. It was going so well for Gay that he casually walked the ball up the court with an eye on the clock late in the third quarter, and then drilled a pull-up jumper from 27 feet. "He put on a show tonight, coming off a game in Oklahoma City where he didnt play very well and got thrown out," Kings coach Michael Malone said. "He wanted to bounce back and show everybody what he is capable of." DeMarcus Cousins had 18 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks for the Kings, who have won five of eight. Isaiah Thomas added 20 points and 11 assists. "When in doubt, go to Rudy and youll get an assist," Thomas said. "He really carried us tonight." Tyreke Evans scored 17 for New Orleans, which trimmed a 23-point deficit to six shortly before halftime, only to fall behind by 23 again in the third quarter and remain behind by double digits the rest of the way. Anthony Davis scored 16 points and blocked four shots, and New Orleans rookie centre Jeff Withey had a career-high 14 points, but that was not nearly enough to prevent the Pelicans from losing for the ninth time in 10 games. The latest loss came one night after the Pelicans snapped an eight-game skid in Memphis. "We just didnt have a lot of juice collectively from our starters tonight and certainly didnt play with any kind of intensity that was comparable to what we did last night," Pelicans coach Monty Williams said. "That is just part of being a pro and understanding that when you have an emotional win like we did last night, theres a quick turnaround." Quincy Acy grabbed 10 rebounds for the Kings, who outrebounded New Orleanns 46-35. Robert Parish Jersey. The Kings were the sharper team from the outset, shooting 70 per cent (14 of 20) in the first period, during which they scored 38 points and built an 18-point lead. "Obviously I could point to a few things, but that would be emotional and I dont want to do that," Williams said. "Theres some things Ive discussed with our team that they need to be better at, and they understand. ... Were not the type of team that can just put our jersey on and step onto the floor. Weve got to go out and play with a high level of energy." New Orleans had 10 players in uniform, out of 15 on the roster. Ryan Anderson (herniated disk), Jrue Holiday (stress fracture, right shin) and Jason Smith (right knee) were injured. Reserve shooting guard Anthony Morrow was sick and newly acquired guard Tyshawn Taylor was not with the team. All 10 active players had checked in before the first quarter ended, in part because four players --Davis, Al-Farouq Aminu, Greg Stiemsma and Alexis Ajinca -- each had two fouls in the period. The Kings lead grew to 23 on Gays 3 midway through the second quarter, and it might have been worse if not for Witheys 12 points in the period. New Orleans enjoyed momentum for only the last half of the second period, scoring on 10 of its last 11 possessions. Witheys dunk sparked a 12-3 spurt, capped by Roberts fast-break layup. Next came an 11-2 run during which Evans scored eight, trimming Sacramentos lead to six before Derrick Williams free throws gave the Kings a 64-56 halftime lead. The Pelicans second-quarter surge put them in striking distance of a memorable comeback, but Sacramento opened the third with a 17-4 run. The surge began with two baskets by Cousins and included two 3s by Gay, the second making it 83-60. "When we play that type of basketball, were a tough team to beat," Cousins said. "Weve got a long way to go to grow as a team, but were definitely on the right path." NOTES: The Kings conclude a six-game road trip Wednesday night at Houston. They are 2-3 on the trip so far. ... CLEVELAND -- Jason Giambi pulled the red-and-blue block "C" cap off the hook in his locker, slipped it on and worked the bill, bending it to his exacting standards. Pat ODonnell Jersey . Everything had to be just right. "Time to get that first one in," he said. After missing Clevelands first 18 games recovering from broken rib, Giambi was activated from the disabled Monday and was to make his season debut in the opener of a four-game series against the Kansas City Royals. Giambi was batting seventh. Indians manager Terry Francona was thrilled to have him anywhere in his lineup. "Im really glad," Francona said. "He means a lot to what we do. If he wants to hit a homer or two today, thats welcome. But having him back is real good. Hes one of the more special people that weve all been around, so to have him back fighting with us is a good thing." The 43-year-old Giambi is in his second season with the Indians, who werent sure what they were getting when they signed him to a minor league contract before the 2013 season. And although Giambi batted only .183 in 71 games, he provided invaluable leadership in Clevelands clubhouse and produced a few spine-tingling moments, none bigger than a game-ending pinch-homer on Sept. 24 that beat the Chicago White Sox. The win came during a 10-game winning streak that put the Indians in the playoffs for the first time since 2007. "That moment is what keeps me coming back," Giambi said. "You dont forget those. Those are special. What made it great was the time it happened and how hard we worked. And if that game gets away -- ... It was special. It gave everybody a taste of that finish, to go to the playoffs and be a part of it." With Giambi returning, Francona juggled his lineup, giving backup catcher and cleanup hitter Carlos Santana the night off. Lonnie Chisenhall started at third and batted fourth. Francona noticed Santana lunging at pitches Sunday and thought he could use a mental break. "I thought it would be good for him because hes starting to chase some balls out of the zone," he said. "I thought he was getting a little anxious. Hes always had that volatile swing, and he stays in the zone so well, but yesterday I thought he started chasing. So I thought I would give him a night to kind of take it easy." Giambis return gave Francona another offensive weapon, a needed one for a team thats struggled offensively. "Its a big, powerful lefty bat who can change the score with one swing," Indians second baseman Jason Kipnis said. "He just adds a confidence to the rest of the lineup." Giambi has become something of a big-brother figure to many of the younger Indians. After he finished dressing for batting practice, Giambi walked past Kipnis locker and reminded him that time was running short. "You got three minutes, kid," Giambi yelled to Kipnis, who said his older teammates contributions go way beyond hitting home runs. "People just feed off his positive energy and the experience he has," Kipnis said. "He just makes you feel more comfortable. Youre more relaxed knowing hes on your side. You can go to him with anything." Leonard Floyd Jersey . Portuguese sides Benfica and Porto also advanced to the last eight while Basel overcame an early red card to win 2-1 at Salzburg and progress from a last-16 second leg that was briefly suspended because of crowd trouble. Lyon, Valencia and AZ Alkmaar will also be in Fridays draw in Nyon, Switzerland, where the team to avoid will be Juventus -- even though the Italian champions made heavy work of their all-Italian last-16 match against Fiorentina. Cody Whitehair Jersey . Jamies number grades given are out of five, with five being the best mark. Henrik Lundqvist, New York Rangers (5) - Simply put, Lundqvist was brilliant. http://www.authenticbearsnflfansmall.com/c-10-bears-mike-ditka-jersey.aspx . Bobrovsky posted a 2-0-1 record with a 1.58 goals-against average and .950 save percentage to help the Blue Jackets (35-26-6) gain five of a possible six points last week. He capped the week by making 32 saves and stopping 2-of-4 shootout attempts in a 2-1 win over the Minnesota Wild on Saturday.ENGLEWOOD, Colo. - NFL fans and fantasy football owners debating Peyton Mannings prowess and problems can continue that discussion well into the new year. The five-time MVP says he plans to return to the Denver Broncos in 2015 for an 18th NFL season.Manning was asked during his weekly news conference Wednesday if there were a set of circumstances that would lead him to retire after the upcoming playoffs.I have not thought about those circumstances at all, Manning replied. So, I certainly plan on being back, if the Broncos will have me. But at this point, Im kind of thinking about Oakland.A win over the Raiders (3-12) on Sunday would earn the Broncos (11-4) a first-round bye.Manning said he knows talk this time of year turns to the coaching carousel and I get to fall into that category because maybe Im closer to the same age as some of the coaches. But yeah, I have no plans along those lines. Im enjoying playing and looking forward to Sundays game and the game to follow that.Manning, 38, is trying to supplant his boss, Broncos GM John Elway, as the oldest QB to win a Super Bowl. But first, hes trying to bounce back from a poor performance in Denvers 37-28 loss Monday night at Cincinnati, where he threw four interceptions for the sixth time in his career.Although the Broncos have down-shifted their high-octane offence over the past several weeks to work on a better ground game, Manning has thrown just five TD passes to go with six interceptions in the past month.Thats sparked a debate over whether time is finally catching up to Manning despite his posting a 39-12 record following spinal fusion surgery in 2011.With every interception, the debate grows in both traditional and social media over his age, health and even his credentials.Yeah, thats probably a little deeper than I can handle, Manning said. ... But the ones the other night were a combination of bad throws and bad decisions. ... I take a lot of pride in trying to be an accurate quarterback and trying to be disciplined in my decision making. So, I didnt play up to my standards the other night and certainly on those four particular plays, Ive got to do a better jobb. William Perry Jersey. Im not sure how old you are has (anything) to do with it. You can be 22 and throw a ball behind a guy, youre probably going to get intercepted.Manning is in some ways a victim of his own greatness. In his first 43 regular-season games in a Broncos uniform, Manning averaged 27 completions per game for 318 yards. Over his past four, hes averaged 18 completions for 224 yards. His TD rate has fallen from 2.68 per game to 1.25, and his interception rate has more than doubled from .69 to 1.5.Coach John Fox issued an impassioned defence of his quarterback this week, saying, if you look at the meaningful statistics as it relates to quarterback, I think hes probably in the top five in the National Football League, which were pleased with.Manning leads the NFL with 39 TD passes and his 102.9 passer rating and 4,454 yards passing both rank fourth. And hes done it despite Julius Thomas six-week TD slump, Wes Welkers drastic drop in production and a jumbled O-line thats not given him enough time or space to step into his throws.Although his teammates fully expected it, Mannings pronouncement Wednesday was met with glee.Eighteens back, were back! running back C.J. Anderson said. Naw, I just think hes got a lot to prove. I dont know if Peyton pays attention to that. But I just know if someones talking bad about me almost every week, I would want to come back and show you guys wrong.Cornerback Chris Harris Jr. said he anticipates Manning playing beyond 2015.I expect him to play out his whole deal, Harris said. Even if we win the Super Bowl, I see Peyton coming back still because we would pretty much have everybody back.Manning is due $19 million salaries in both 2015 and 16.Notes: RB Ronnie Hillman was a full participant in practice for the first time since he sprained his left foot Nov. 9. ... S T.J. Ward (neck) was limited. ... Anderson apologized for his terse postgame interview in which he answered every question with a version of: We played terrible. Weve got to get better. He said he should have cooled off before speaking with reporters.___AP NFL website: www.pro32.ap.org and www.twitter.com/AP_NFL Cheap NFL Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Wholesale NFL Jerseys Jerseys From China Wholesale NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap Jerseys ' ' '
