RALEIGH, N. Gale Sayers Jersey .C. -- The Edmonton Oilers used a late-power-play goal to get a hard-fought road victory. Justin Schultz scored with the man advantage at 9:01 of the third period and the Edmonton Oilers earned a 2-1 win over the Carolina Hurricanes on Sunday. David Perron and Taylor Hall had the assists on Schultzs ninth goal of the season as part of his third multi-point game of the season. "Yeah, it was a good road effort for us," Shultz said. "We battled hard all game." Matt Hendricks opened the scoring at 6:43 of the first to give the Oilers a 1-0 lead. Boyd Gordon and Schultz had the assists on Hendricks fifth goal of the season. The goal was his first since Feb. 3, and third with Edmonton after being acquired from Nashville on Jan. 15. Hendricks outskated Hurricanes defenceman Ryan Murphy to the puck behind the Carolina net and attempted to pass it back to Edmonton centre Anton Lander. The puck deflected off Hurricanes defenceman Jay Harrisons stick as he trailed to defend on the play and the puck ended up behind Khudobin to give Edmonton the early lead. Edmonton goalie Ben Scrivens made 29 saves for the win. "Hes been great," Hendricks said of Scrivens performance. "Our tandem (of goalies) has been outstanding. Since I got here, goaltending has been number one, the backbone of this team, and it continued again tonight." Khudobin made 31 saves for the Hurricanes while the Oilers dominated play throughout the early part of the first period. Carolinas Jordan Staal tied it at 1-1 with 17.2 seconds remaining in the opening period as his brother Eric Staal and defenceman Justin Faulk helped set up the play. It was Staals 14th goal of the season and extended his point streak to six games, giving him three goals and six assists during that span. Staals shot attempt was deflected high toward Scrivens after it caromed of Perrons stick as he tried to block it. As Scrivens effort to slap the puck away with his blocker was ineffective, Staal batted it past him and into the net to tie the game. "It was a great team effort," Oilers coach Dallas Eakins said. "I thought our penalty kill sparked us. Theres a lot of sacrifice out there blocking those shots and it really got our bench ignited, and finally our power play was able to chip in and win us the game." Edmonton finished 1 for 4 on the power play and Carolina was 0 for 3. The Hurricanes continued ineffectiveness with the power play left coach Kirk Muller struggling to explain it. "Weve changed personnel around, tried guys in different positions, but at the end of the day, its just not getting results," Muller said. "Obviously, it hasnt been there. At the end of the day, you just (gotta) get the job done." Despite the loss, the Hurricanes are trying to stay positive. "Its frustrating," Jordan Staal said. "Theres times when we play so well and do a lot of good things, playing smart and doing those things. Then there are times when its just not working. Its frustrating for sure." Notes: Hurricanes forward Radek Dvorak did not return to play in the third period, suffering an upper body injury. ... At puck drop, Carolinas Jiri Tlusty was scratched with a lower-body injury which moved Nathan Gerbe into his spot on a line with Jordan Staal and Alexander Semin. ... Defenceman Mike Komisarek was also a healthy scratch and John-Michael Liles remained out with a concussion, missing his fifth straight game for the Hurricanes. Zach Miller Jersey . Henrik Samuelsson and Luke Bertolucci also scored for the Oil Kings, who are now 9-0 on home ice in the playoffs to cut Portlands series lead to 2-1. Chase De Leo and Mathew Dumba responded for the Winterhawks, who suffered just their fourth loss in their last 46 games, a string of success running all the way back to Jan. Dan Skuta Jersey . Perhaps as important, shes sending a message to 17-year-old gold medal favourite Sara Takanashi of Japan. Iraschko-Stolz relegated Takanashi, who has 10 World Cup victories this season, to second place in two of three training jumps Saturday. http://www.bearsauthenticproshop.com/Youth-Cameron-Meredith-Bears-Jersey/ . The mood in Seattle was electrified as the parade featuring the NFL champions began near the Space Needle and made its way to CenturyLink Field, the home of the team. At a ceremony inside the stadium, the team thanked its loyal followers -- the 12th Man -- capping a day of boisterous celebration that drew an estimated 700,000 revelers to Seattle.Andres Iniesta insists Spain have learned from their early World Cup elimination two years ago and are determined to retain their mantle as Europes best nation. Mondays game against the Czech Republic will be their first in a top tournament since the fiasco in Brazil, when they arrived as favourites but failed to advance past the group stage.Spain, who won two straight European Championships and the 2010 World Cup, arrive in France looking to re-establish their supremacy in world football. Spain v Czech Republic preview David de Gea in contention after controversy The disappointment of what happened in Brazil forces us to be more focused than ever in this competition, Iniesta said.We arrive with a responsibility as champions and we want to go as far as possible. Each tournament is different and I think that we have a good squad and can do well. Spain celebrate winning Euro 2012 four years ago Spain coach Vicente Del Bosque said he sees his team well prepared for the tournament in France, just as he felt they were for the 2014 World Cup.I dont see a lot of difference from when we played in the World Cup in Brazil, Del Bosque said. We prepared well at that time, I dont see any difference. We are in good condition now and we know how to compete, but there is always uncertainty about any tournament. Tom Waddle Jersey. Spain failed to make it out of the groups at the last World Cup in Brazil Getting off to a good start against the Czechs in their Group D opener on Monday would certainly help La Roja avoid another disappointment. Spain have not won their opening game in a major tournament since Euro 2008, when they defeated Russia 4-1.However, they started the 2014 World Cup with a 5-1 loss to the Netherlands, which was followed by a 2-0 loss to Chile. They drew 1-1 with Italy at Euro 2012 and lost to Switzerland 1-0 to begin the 2010 World Cup.Only at the end of the tournament we will be able to say how important the first match was, Iniesta said. Weve started important competitions losing and still won the title, and weve started others with victories but ended losing.Follow our minute-by-minute commentary of Spains game against the Czech Republic on Monday through our live blog on skysports.com/football, our app for mobile devices and iPad and our Twitter account @skysportsfootball.Catch up with all the latest Euro 2016 news with Euro Breakfast each morning on Sky Sports News HQ from 6am Also See: Spain v Czech Republic preview Bellerin: Rosicky the threat Ramos offers De Gea support De Gea rejects lies Cheap NFL Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Wholesale NFL Jerseys Jerseys From China Wholesale NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap Jerseys ' ' '
